Every home in East Texas fights the same battle. Humidity, shade from the pines, and long warm seasons make the north and west walls a perfect home for algae, mildew and lichen. Left alone it eats into paint, stains siding permanently, and knocks real money off your curb appeal.
Blasting it with high pressure is the wrong answer. High-PSI water forces moisture behind siding, cracks old caulk, strips paint and voids some siding warranties. What it does not do is kill the algae at the root — which is why it grows back within months.
We soft wash instead. Low pressure — about the force of a garden hose — combined with a professional cleaning solution that kills the organism itself. The house comes clean without damage, and it stays clean dramatically longer.

What we clean
- Vinyl siding — the most common in Henderson County, and the most prone to that green streaking
- Brick and mortar — including decorative and screen brick where algae hides in every recess
- Stucco and hardboard — handled gently; these are the easiest surfaces to damage with too much pressure
- Soffits, fascia and gutters — including gutter face brightening to remove those black tiger stripes
- Painted wood siding — cleaned without stripping the finish
How a house wash actually goes
- Walk-around. We look at the whole house with you, point out problem areas, and confirm the price before anything gets wet.
- Protect the landscaping. Plants and shrubs get pre-wet and rinsed throughout. This is the step most people skip and it's the one that saves your flowerbeds.
- Apply and dwell. The cleaning solution goes on low-pressure and is given time to work. You can literally watch the green disappear.
- Rinse. A thorough low-pressure rinse from the top down.
- Final walk. We go back around with you. If we missed something, we fix it before we load up.
How often should you have it done?
For most East Texas homes, once a year keeps it ahead of the algae. Homes with heavy tree cover, on the north side of a lot, or near the lake often want it every 9–12 months. If your siding has never been washed, the first clean makes the biggest difference you'll ever see.

House Washing FAQs
Will soft washing damage my siding or paint?
No. Soft washing runs at roughly garden-hose pressure — the cleaning solution does the work, not force. It's the method siding manufacturers actually recommend, and it's far safer than high-pressure washing on any painted or vinyl surface.
Will it kill my plants?
Not when it's done right. We pre-wet all landscaping before we start and keep rinsing it throughout the job. Protecting your beds is part of the process, not an add-on.
How long does a house wash take?
Most single-story homes take 2–4 hours. Larger two-story homes usually run half a day. We'll give you a realistic window when we quote.
Do I need to be home?
No. As long as we have access to water and can reach the exterior, you don't need to be there. Plenty of customers get it done while they're at work and come home to a clean house.
How long before the green comes back?
A proper soft wash kills the algae rather than just knocking it off, so most homes stay clean 12 months or more. Heavy shade and moisture shorten that.
